This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Create safe and cost-effective structures that meet project specifications while complying with industry regulations and standards.
• Leverage our proprietary software for analyzing frames, secondary elements, bracing, cranes, mezzanines, and panels to guarantee structural integrity and performance.
• Collaborate closely with the Detailing Department and other team members to effectively communicate design needs and ensure smooth project delivery.
• Review and verify structural drawings for precision and accuracy.
• Seize opportunities for professional growth and development as an engineer, working with various teams across the division to discover innovative solutions and explore diverse career paths within our organization.
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET Accredited institution.
• Proficient in verbal and written English communication skills.
• Strong understanding of structural building codes, including IBC, AISC 360, AISC 341, AISC 358, ASCE7, AISI, etc.
• Structural Engineer (S.E.) registration in the United States, with the capability to obtain licensure in Illinois.
• Must reside within the continental United States, with availability for a minimum of 8 consecutive hours between 9 am and 3 pm CST.
• Willingness to travel to the home division or job sites as required (less than 10% travel).
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor will not sponsor visa requirements now or in the future).
