This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Senior Civil/Structural Engineer oversees the entire civil scope, starting from the concepts established during project proposals, continuing through detailed design, and concluding with the construction phase and project closeout, ensuring all documentation is delivered in a complete and high-quality manner.
• Provide support to the Application Engineer and Tendering team by creating conceptual designs, estimating costs, and preparing tender documents related to the civil scope.
• Collaborate closely with the Project Director and Sourcing Specialist to define and develop the contracting strategy, aiming to identify accurate and competitive market pricing for civil design and construction work.
• Create a technical scope of work that includes a clear division of responsibilities and a detailed schedule.
• Aid in establishing precise cost estimates for the construction scope.
• Conduct technical analyses of subcontractors and consortium partners to facilitate sourcing negotiations.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineering License (PE) in the United States in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, procuring, and constructing (EPC) large capital High Voltage substations, FACTS, and HVDC projects from a civil engineering perspective.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% of the time to support projects, including occasional international travel.
• Experience in structural design, encompassing steel and concrete buildings and non-building structures, electrical substations, equipment support structures, deep and shallow foundations, building services, and site works.
• A strong understanding of civil design codes, including but not limited to IBC, IEBC, ASCE, IEEE, ACI, AISC, etc.
• A good grasp of architectural, electrical, and mechanical design requirements.
• Proficiency in engineering design and analysis software, including but not limited to Bentley Staad.Pro family, RISA family, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BlueBeam, MathCAD or TEDDS, MS Excel, etc.
• Project Management Certification (PMP).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Experience in supervising and managing civil design and construction subcontractors.
