Structural Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

📋 Description

• Engage in standard WPI projects, including exterior and interior framing, ceilings, and load-bearing struts. While review may be necessary, you are expected to work autonomously.

• Directly liaise with both internal and external team members, including field personnel. Participate in project meetings alongside the internal team and the project design team.

• Create drawings for shop drawing submissions, collaborating with the WPI BIM and drafting team.

• Develop calculation packages for submission to the project design team and local authorities.

• Take part in bid evaluations and assist in estimating new projects.

• Serve as a liaison with pertinent project professionals, such as the Architect of Record or Engineer of Record.

• Oversee and inspect ongoing work to ensure systems are constructed according to engineered drawings.

• Provide support to field operations, which includes interpreting structural drawings and specifications for the field team, preparing drawings to facilitate site layouts, creating engineered sketches for special inspectors, among other tasks. Site visits are infrequent but may be required.

• Enhance your understanding of cold-formed steel or other engineering subjects.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering design; candidates of all experience levels are encouraged to apply.

• Previous experience or knowledge of cold-formed steel framing is preferred.

• Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.

• Capable of exercising independent judgment, demonstrating problem-solving skills, being self-motivated, and prioritizing based on relevant factors.

• Proficient in managing personal workload, identifying priority conflicts, and seeking guidance for resolution.
