This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead a team of structural engineers.
• Collaborate with engineers from various disciplines and engage directly with clients.
• Mentor and guide a structural engineering team on projects related to new nuclear facilities, as well as upgrades and modifications to existing nuclear power plants.
• Utilize expertise in materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design.
• Act as part of an engineering and design team on diverse projects for multiple clients.
• Prepare, review, and offer guidance on design calculations.
• Develop specifications and collaborate with designers on the creation of drawings.
• Prepare, review, or oversee structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations.
• Lead initiatives to resolve engineering challenges from identification to solution by leveraging data, automation, and AI for enhanced workflows, reduced rework, and cost-effective designs.
• Direct efforts in automation and process improvement, including automating calculations, summarizing technical documents, and producing design documentation.
• Provide guidance on the appropriate use of AI or agentic AI tools while ensuring the accuracy of results.
• Supervise engineers who program or script using Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel to automate engineering tasks, ensuring a review of automated outputs.
• May require travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews, as well as to construction sites for coordination and field verification.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• At least 12 years of experience as part of a project team in the design and analysis of structures for industrial, heavy commercial, or nuclear facilities.
• Proficient in structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
• Familiar with design codes and standards including ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license.
• Willingness or capability to lead others using advanced tools such as automation and AI.
• A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering is preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience providing on-site construction support is beneficial but not essential.
• Additional qualifications such as a minor, certificate, or experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields are valued.
