Senior Software Engineer, Structural

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and develop algorithms and systems for framing and structural analysis, progressing from prototypes to a deliverable MVP.

• Utilize AI-assisted processes to expedite development while ensuring accuracy, maintainability, and anticipated functionality.

• Collaborate with product, customer success, and engineering teams to outline functionalities, identify deficiencies, and assist clients.

• Convert knowledge of framing and structural engineering into effective software solutions.

• Create tests targeting intricate edge cases.

• Contribute to defining the technical vision of a newly formed team.

• Provide mentorship as the team expands.

• Adapt to evolving scopes and priorities within a developing team.

• Potential to advance into a tech lead position.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional experience in software engineering, preferably with TypeScript.

• Experience in structural or mechanical engineering, whether academic or professional.

• Knowledge of computational geometry and mathematical modeling.

• Proficient use of contemporary development tools, including AI-assisted workflows.

• Accountability for the accuracy and maintainability of the code produced.

• Comfort in navigating ambiguity within a new and evolving team environment.

• Ability to clearly convey tradeoffs, project timelines, and decision-making processes.

• Experience in developing framing, structural analysis, or CAD/CAM tools is highly desirable.

• Background in transitioning between engineering technologies; experience with C# or Python and a willingness to learn TypeScript and React is beneficial.

• A genuine interest in homebuilding, construction, or home design is a plus.
