Structural Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Generate engineering calculations, layouts, and construction drawings for a variety of building projects.

• Design systems for gravity and lateral loads, emphasizing wood framing and reinforced concrete structures.

• Conduct structural calculations for gravity, lateral, foundation, and retaining systems.

• Create designs for wood-frame assemblies, including shear walls, joists, and beams.

• Develop reinforced concrete components such as foundations, slabs, and columns.

• Produce comprehensive structural plans, sections, and framing details utilizing AutoCAD and Revit.

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project leads to ensure designs are feasible for construction.

• Ensure adherence to IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, and NDS building codes.

• Submit a voice note as part of the screening process.

• Provide work samples or a portfolio in PDF format.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

• 2 to 5+ years of experience in structural design.

• Demonstrated experience in both wood and concrete structural design.

• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software, including Enercalc, RISA, WoodWorks, or RAM.

• EIT preferred; SE/PE track is an advantage.

• Familiarity with IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, and NDS building codes.

• Professional demeanor and ethical conduct.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Initiative and proactive attitude.

• Skills in multitasking and organization with attention to detail.

• Analytical skills to address complex issues effectively.

• Capability to identify pain points, bottlenecks, scope creep, and opportunities for process improvement.

• Capacity to provide a 1.5–2 minute voice note in English.

• Work samples or portfolio in PDF format.

• Access to a personal computer with internet connectivity.

• Eligibility to work remotely from Mexico and respond to U.S. work authorization inquiries.
