This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering and design project teams to develop structural physical layout drawings within a 3-D model.
• Design structural supports and foundations while investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving a diverse range of structural design challenges.
• Utilize 3D modeling software tools to create structural design schematics.
• Engage in the coordination of detailed design phases for all components of an integrated structural design model.
• Provide assistance to fellow designers and project team members to ensure a comprehensive and timely design process.
• Independently and collaboratively within a design team, plan and deliver structural design outputs.
• Accompany and support senior designers and engineers during field walkdowns and data collection at client facilities.
• Offer guidance in the use of drafting tools and act as a mentor to help develop less experienced drafters and designers.
• An Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma along with 1 or more years of drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.
• A minimum of four years of detailed design experience in producing structural steel design and reinforced concrete design drawings.
• Proficiency in design software tools for executing 3D plant layout models.
• Experience with Open Building Designer.
• Familiarity with reviewing structural layout drawings that include steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, foundations, and rebar detailing.
• Ability to collaborate with engineering and design teams from other disciplines in the power plant design process.
