Strategic Sourcing Manager – Direct Materials

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Formulate and execute strategic sourcing plans for various categories of direct raw materials (such as resin, packaging, components, etc.).

• Spearhead the supplier selection and negotiation processes to ensure the best pricing, quality, and service standards.

• Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with suppliers to foster continuous improvement and value creation.

• Discover cost-saving opportunities through process enhancements, supplier consolidation, and strategic negotiations.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote cost reduction initiatives and meet savings objectives.

• Monitor and evaluate savings performance against set goals.

• Regularly assess market conditions, industry trends, and supplier capabilities to guide sourcing strategies.

• Conduct market research to evaluate potential suppliers and identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency.

• Partner with internal business units to comprehend their requirements and ensure sourcing strategies are in line with business objectives.

• Supervise the negotiation and administration of contracts with suppliers.

• Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with supply chain disruptions, supplier performance, and compliance with contracts.

• Monitor and report on supplier performance and the effectiveness of sourcing initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

• At least 8-10 years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, particularly for direct materials.

• Significant experience in managing resin materials that support injection molding manufacturing processes.

• A Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or an MBA is preferred.

• Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) is advantageous.

• In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management, and the strategy development process.

• Proficiency in supplier negotiation, contract management, and cost optimization.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a knack for data-driven decision-making.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in English and an additional language (Spanish, French) may be beneficial.
