Strategic Sourcing Manager

📋 Description

• Act as the Strategic Sourcing Manager for the Raw Materials Category

• Oversee the global sourcing strategy for raw material categories, which include Media, Resins, Chemicals, Excipients, Single Use, and Filters

• Drive global sourcing initiatives aimed at cost optimization, supplier performance, and risk management

• Manage the entire supplier selection process, including negotiations, contracting, and relationship management

• Develop and negotiate contracts covering scope, deliverables, timelines, and accountability

• Analyze procurement and supplier data to uncover savings opportunities and enhance operational efficiency

• Leverage data and market insights to inform strategic sourcing decisions

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure sourcing strategies align with business goals

• Establish and maintain strategic supplier relationships that promote quality, innovation, and long-term value

• Ensure adherence to procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and risk mitigation standards

• Work with internal teams and suppliers to facilitate sourcing execution and ongoing improvement

• Foster collaboration among cross-functional and regional stakeholders to meet sourcing objectives

• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Data Privacy, and Cybersecurity teams on risk management and governance

• Offer guidance on complex supplier negotiations, RFPs, evaluations, and contract strategies

• Influence stakeholders and mobilize resources to realize category priorities and reach business objectives

• Achieve financial results that align with category goals, including cost savings and value creation targets

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate degree, or a master’s degree with 2 years of sourcing experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 4 years of sourcing experience, or an associate’s degree with 8 years of sourcing experience, or a high school diploma/GED with 10 years of sourcing experience

• Demonstrated strategic sourcing experience

• Strong negotiation skills with suppliers

• Familiarity with global procurement e-sourcing and Contract Lifecycle Management tools, such as Workday Strategic Sourcing and Sirion Labs

• Experience in contract legal management

• Project management experience leading teams across geographical and functional boundaries

• Proven experience in drafting and negotiating agreements, including redlines, fallback positions, and cross-functional alignment

• Background in sourcing raw materials, with a focus on vendor management, cost optimization, and performance measurement

• Experience in negotiations with life sciences raw-material suppliers, potentially including academic institutions

• Understanding of sourcing management, supplier relationship management, and contract lifecycle management principles

• Experience leading large cross-functional teams and managing complex global projects in a matrixed environment

• Strong fluency in financial, legal, and contractual matters

• Ability to articulate sourcing strategies and influence stakeholders effectively

• Familiarity with procurement platforms such as Ariba, ERP systems, and advanced analytics tools

• Comprehension of regulatory landscapes and compliance requirements
