
Strategic Project Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +2 more states.
• Accountable for creating initial designs and specifications for engineering and materials, as well as estimating project costs.
• Perform research, feasibility assessments, and economic analyses to ensure the design is both practical and economical.
• Establish design criteria based on necessary standards and codes, and validate fieldwork by producing as-built drawings to document the final results.
• Review engineering projects for correctness and integrity, overseeing project execution by guiding vendors and contractors.
• Align project schedules with plant staff, vendors, and contractors, ensuring coordination with management and engineering teams for successful implementation.
• Direct equipment vendors in planning layouts, ensuring utility requirements are fulfilled, and adhering to installation timelines.
• Conduct engineering planning, design, and operational evaluations during pre-project studies to determine feasibility and ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Prepare requests for proposals and assess the received proposals to identify the most effective approach.
• Provide comprehensive reports to management, keeping them updated on progress and significant project milestones.
• Oversee contract administration, including the review of bid packages to ensure compliance and completeness.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering or a related field, alongside 5+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a leadership role that includes team development and management is required.
• Capability to apply sound engineering principles to operational and design challenges.
• Understanding of installation and construction project scheduling.
• Must have Project Management skills, Contract Administration skills, and the ability to interpret national codes and standards.
• Proficient in engineering economics.
• Skilled in AutoCAD.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word processing software, and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Motivated by collaboration through travel to various locations (50% of the time).
