Strategic Partner Liaison

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Leads advocacy initiatives for doctors, acting as VSP’s primary insurance and legislative representative among eye care professionals and doctor influencers.

• Aids in the creation and drives the execution of both short- and long-term strategic outreach plans in collaboration with business partners throughout the organization.

• Cultivates and sustains strong external relationships with influential policy-makers and doctors within the optical sector.

• Executes strategies aimed at shaping the competitive landscape in which doctors operate.

• Acts as a liaison to investigate, analyze, and address complex issues and escalations related to practice-level and policy concerns.

• Keeps informed about the national and regional health care markets, the vision insurance landscape, and VSP’s insurance offerings.

• Represents the perspective of doctors on matters concerning VSP and the wider industry within the organization.

• Strengthens the strategic value of enterprise partnerships by employing innovative tactics to enhance value and provide solutions for doctors.

• Willingness to travel 70% of the time.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• At least six years of experience in provider relations, direct outside sales, account management, business development, or client relationship management, preferably within the optical industry.

• Proven professionalism and leadership skills when dealing with controversial and conflictual situations.

• A collaborative team player who enjoys working with others to formulate strategies and align on tactical implementations.

• Self-motivated individual capable of working independently.

• Strong written and verbal communication, influencing, and problem-solving abilities.

• Experienced public speaker adept at addressing large audiences and facilitating group discussions.
