Strategic Finance Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Act as an embedded finance business partner for 1–2 functions, including Product, Sales, Marketing, Operations, People, and other corporate divisions.

• Convert business strategies into financial plans and articulate financial limitations as business trade-offs.

• Develop and rigorously assess business cases for investments in product, sales and marketing initiatives, market expansion, staffing, vendor engagements, and build-vs-buy evaluations.

• Monitor investment outcomes and unit economics, providing feedback to leadership.

• Oversee the comprehensive financial planning and monthly forecasting process.

• Manage operating budgets through regular reviews, variance analysis, and strategic guidance.

• Maintain financial forecasts while enhancing the understanding of business drivers.

• Assist in defining significant KPIs and work collaboratively with Data to ensure they are visible and reliable.

• Utilize AI tools to enhance insight generation, improve efficiency, and facilitate smarter decision-making.

• Contribute to shaping the Finance team’s operations as AI tools progress.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of relevant experience.

• Ideally a mix of backgrounds in Investment Banking, Consulting, or Private Equity/Venture Capital along with a highly analytical Strategic Finance role in a rapidly growing tech organization.

• Proven experience in owning financial metrics or acting as a vital financial partner to a fast-evolving business or product line.

• Capability to convert financial analyses into strategic decisions that enhance outcomes.

• Skill in providing structure amidst ambiguity and addressing open-ended challenges.

• Proficiency in clearly communicating complex insights.

• Frequent utilization of AI tools to boost efficiency, analysis, and decision-making processes.
