This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with business leaders across clinical operations, network, growth, and product to assess new business opportunities, geographic growth, payer collaborations, and product enhancements.
• Develop robust business cases that can withstand scrutiny from the executive team, the board, capital partners, and regulatory bodies, based on actual unit economics rather than mere directional estimates.
• Create and manage scenario and sensitivity analyses that rigorously test the assumptions executives are prepared to commit the company to.
• Spearhead the financial design and operational establishment of zero-to-one initiatives, from initial business models to pilot economics and scaling strategies.
• Construct the analytical framework (data structures, KPIs, reporting schedules) for businesses or product lines that currently do not exist.
• Collaborate directly with the CFO on M&A and corporate development initiatives, from the initial screening phase through due diligence and integration planning.
• Develop acquisition and partnership models, manage diligence workstreams, and create point-of-view memos for executive and board discussions.
• Assist in capital raising and strategic financing efforts, including preparing investor materials, lender presentations, and analyzing term sheets.
• Work alongside the VP of FP&A on business planning and participate in select monthly closing activities as required.
• Convert complex analyses into clear recommendations and compile them into materials suitable for board presentations.
• 3-6 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, growth equity, or top-tier strategy consulting, or a combination including 2+ years in a strategic finance or corporate development role at a high-growth operating company.
• Outstanding financial modeling capabilities, with the proficiency to create models that are clean, auditable, and can withstand a director-level review without needing reconstruction.
• Strong analytical skills combined with sound business judgment, including the capacity to identify when a model is mathematically accurate but commercially flawed.
• Ability to navigate between detailed analysis and executive-level synthesis without losing focus.
• Proven capacity to work in uncertain environments, structure ambiguous problems, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
• A strong sense of ownership and minimal entitlement; you take accountability for results.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of drafting a concise memo that a busy executive can act upon.
• A bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (finance, economics, engineering, mathematics, sciences) is preferred.
• Comfortable functioning in a fast-paced, startup atmosphere with shifting priorities and structures.
• Preferred experience in healthcare services, health insurance, or value-based care, or a genuine interest in understanding the U.S. health system and its economic challenges.
• Experience in evaluating M&A or partnership opportunities from start to finish.
• Proficiency in SQL and comfort working directly with data, with the ability to independently extract and analyze figures.
• Proven track record of collaborating with non-finance leaders and gaining their trust as a strategic partner.
• Familiarity with Harbor Health's payvider model and the strategic considerations involved in operating across insurance, clinical, and network functions.
• Opportunity to influence Harbor Health's strategic direction during a critical phase of organizational growth.
• Significant equity ownership, ensuring that the business you help build is one in which you have a genuine stake.
• A growth trajectory that evolves with the company, providing pathways to advance into senior strategic finance and corporate development roles as Harbor expands.
• Direct access to executives, the board, and capital partners; work that reaches decision-makers directly instead of being filtered through multiple review layers.
• A collaborative and dynamic work environment with a team that prioritizes clarity, sound judgment, and correctness over mere agreeability.
• An organization comprised of individuals passionate about transforming the healthcare landscape.
• Competitive salary and benefits package.
• Opportunities for professional development and growth.
• A transparent and distinctive culture.
