Strategic Finance Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for leadership, the board, and investors—from raw data extraction to refined presentations.

• Participating in ad-hoc strategic analyses across various functions (e.g., performance of paid acquisition, business cases for product launches, international market assessments, etc.).

• Keeping detailed financial models to aid in budgeting and planning, and conducting budget variance analysis on a monthly basis.

• Creating and maintaining performance reporting and KPI dashboards for different departments utilizing SQL and Looker.

• Aiding in inbound diligence requests and other strategic projects as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, management consulting, or strategic finance/FP&A, ideally with a focus on software and internet businesses.

• Familiarity with annual and long-range forecasting, reporting on forecast versus actual variance, and similar FP&A responsibilities.

• Demonstrated ability to achieve objectives and deliver results in a collaborative, team-focused environment.

• Advanced skills in Excel and Google Sheets.

• Strong working knowledge of SQL and business intelligence tools.

• Excellent attention to detail and analytical rigor.

• Effective presentation skills, with the capability to clearly and visually communicate both quantitative and qualitative insights.

• Strong communication abilities, including the capacity to simplify complex concepts and proactively share knowledge with colleagues and stakeholders.

• Self-driven with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.

• Inquisitive, experimental mindset—particularly regarding emerging AI tools and technologies.
