Storage Backup Recovery Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• The selected candidate will serve as a Storage and Backup Recovery Specialist, tasked with the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our enterprise storage and data protection systems.

• Design, configure, and manage HPE storage arrays (such as Nimble, 3PAR, and Primera) to fulfill performance, capacity, and availability requirements.

• Monitor storage utilization, performance, and health, proactively resolving issues and applying optimizations.

• Conduct capacity planning and forecasting for upcoming storage needs.

• Administer and enhance Veeam Backup & Replication environments for virtual, physical, and cloud workloads.

• Develop, implement, and test disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BC) plans and procedures.

• Collaborate with database administrators to ensure optimal storage configurations and backup strategies for MariaDB instances.

• Provide expert-level support for incidents and issues related to storage, backup, and recovery.

• Ensure all storage and backup solutions comply with security best practices and regulatory requirements.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience (a bachelor’s degree in a related field may substitute for 5 years of experience).

• Must possess DoD Secret clearance and have experience in a classified setting.

• Compliance with DoD 8140; Security + certification is required at a minimum.

• Experience managing devices within a secure location on a SIPR network is essential.

• Hands-on experience with HPE storage systems (e.g., Nimble, 3PAR, Primera) is mandatory.

• Proven expertise in the administration and troubleshooting of Veeam Backup & Replication.

• Solid understanding of MariaDB database concepts, particularly backup and recovery methodologies.

• Familiarity with SAN/NAS technologies (Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, SMB) is required.

• Strong grasp of virtualization technologies (such as VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V).

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities.

• Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience with RMF and STIG requirements is preferred.

• Familiarity with ITILv4 is beneficial.

• Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies is a plus.

• Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Project, Visio) and SharePoint is necessary.

• The candidate must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
