This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Define and take ownership of customer-centric hybrid cloud architectures for Azure-based managed services.
• Design, standardize, and enhance multi-tenant managed service platforms that cater to various enterprise clients.
• Ensure architectural designs comply with contractual Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and support frameworks.
• Establish and uphold architecture, security, and operational standards across client environments.
• Maintain active involvement with production storage and backup systems.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and act as the primary escalation point for intricate customer challenges.
• Design resilient platforms equipped with robust monitoring, alerting, backup, and disaster recovery mechanisms.
• Serve as a technical lead and trusted advisor for enterprise clients.
• Engage in customer architecture assessments, technical workshops, and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
• Convert customer business needs into secure, maintainable cloud architectures.
• Assist in presales and solution design, including architecture validation, project scoping, and risk evaluation.
• Guide clients through cloud adoption, modernization efforts, and hybrid integration strategies.
• Provide architectural guidance for 24×7 managed service operations, including participation in on-call rotations.
• Lead responses to major incidents, ensuring effective customer communication and conducting post-incident reviews.
• Promote reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency enhancements across customer platforms.
• Ensure operational readiness for new clients and onboarding processes.
• Mentor senior engineers and architects within the Managed Service Provider (MSP) organization.
• Influence technical strategy, tools, and service offerings throughout the managed services portfolio.
• Assess Azure services and technologies to enhance customer outcomes.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Experience: Over 15 years of experience in managing and engineering storage and backup systems within enterprise settings.
• Experience: More than 5 years of experience in designing and operating Microsoft Azure for enterprise or MSP clients.
• Experience: Extensive hands-on experience in storage and backup system administration in enterprise production environments.
• Experience: Proven track record in managing Dell storage and backup solutions.
• Experience: In-depth expertise in the administration of storage and backup systems.
• Experience: Familiarity with backup and recovery processes.
• Certifications: Certification in at least one Backup & Data Protection technology (e.g., Veeam, Cohesity, Commvault, Druva, etc.).
• Certifications: Certified in Dell EMC Enterprise Storage Platform.
• Certifications: Azure Architect Certification.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the aptitude to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Leadership: Proven leadership skills, including project management and team mentoring.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Adaptability: Capacity to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adjust to evolving priorities and technologies.
