Staff Technical Product Manager, Ads ML Platform

Posted Jun 20

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define the Vision: Develop the long-term strategy and roadmap for Reddit’s Ads ML platform, ensuring the adoption of advanced technologies (including Generative AI and LLM workflows) to maintain a competitive edge.

• Accelerate Velocity: Create products and tools that significantly minimize friction for Machine Learning Engineers (MLEs) and Data Scientists, allowing them to train, deploy, and refine models more swiftly than ever.

• Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with Engineering, Data Science, and Ads Product teams to comprehend their limitations, prioritize platform initiatives, and provide scalable infrastructure.

• Drive Execution and Adoption: Take ownership of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to platform reliability, latency, cost-effectiveness, usage metrics, and developer productivity.

• Stay Cutting-Edge: Remain attuned to the broader ML ecosystem. Review the latest research papers, grasp emerging architectures, and assess their practical application to Reddit’s Ads ML platform.

• Distill pain points, translate to requirements: Conduct regular user research with MLEs in Ranking, Creative Effectiveness, and Content Understanding to transform pain points (e.g., slow backfills, limited training speed, no quick feature sharing across models) into specific product requirements. Validate the needs and ensure they align with a broader organizational vision.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7+ years of product management experience, focusing on internal technical products, developer tools, data/ML platforms, and/or ads and content ranking.

• A strong analytical and highly technical background; comfortable working with complex data systems and understanding the complete machine learning lifecycle (training, inference, deployment, monitoring).

• A genuine enthusiasm for machine learning and AI; you keep abreast of ML advancements, enjoy reading ML research papers, and stay updated on the latest industry trends, architectures, and capabilities.

• Outstanding problem-solving abilities and the skill to convert highly technical constraints (e.g., GPU scheduling, latency budgets) into actionable product roadmaps.

• Excellent communication skills; capable of translating technical requirements to business stakeholders and conveying business objectives to engineering teams.

🏝️ Benefits

• 100% remote opportunity (we also have 4 office locations for hybrid/onsite work preferences in NY, SF, LA, and Chicago).
