This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a team of engineers responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance of The Home Depot’s technical hardware and system software infrastructure.
• Develop, implement, and maintain production infrastructure.
• Create reusable infrastructure-as-code components, architectural diagrams, and pertinent documentation.
• Engage in the selection and lead the implementation of both physical and virtual infrastructure.
• Guide the configuration, debugging, support, rollout, and deployment of technology solutions.
• Establish system software, hardware, and equipment to adapt to evolving infrastructure requirements.
• Formulate and enhance technology solution specifications.
• Generate and oversee hardware and software procurement requests.
• Direct the development of test suites for swift infrastructure-as-code deployment.
• Keep abreast of innovations, industry trends, and internal systems to ensure secure and operational systems.
• Analyze business trends and behavioral data to uncover strategic opportunities.
• Spearhead the evaluation and recommendation of strategic technology solutions.
• Research and design infrastructure, network, database, cloud, AI, and security architectures.
• Develop and sustain infrastructure as code and AI models.
• Engage in strategic project planning and management across multiple initiatives.
• Create formal training programs.
• Collaborate with product and project teams to facilitate infrastructure solutions.
• Support technology architecture design reviews.
• Monitor and enhance applications, infrastructure, networks, databases, and security.
• Conduct root-cause analysis, debugging, incident support, and post-mortem evaluations.
• Maintain, upgrade, and support existing systems and infrastructure.
• Act as a point of contact with vendors for resourcing, issue management, and documentation.
• Produce internal solution documentation.
• Provide support for production applications.
• Mentor junior Systems Engineers.
• Transform knowledge-base articles into AI models and enhance analytic performance models.
• Must be at least eighteen years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Familiarity with z/OS ISPF, JCL, and JES2.
• Experience with z/OS DB2 administration, including DDL, DML, DCL, DB2 commands, and SQL.
• Proficient with DB2 utilities like COPY, QUIESCE, REPAIR, REORG, and LOAD.
• Understanding of RACF Security Monitor instances, events, and related resolutions/escalations.
• Ability to promptly triage and troubleshoot database issues.
• Experience with DB2 SQL and Q Replication.
• Capability to create scripts for automating DB2 administrative tasks.
• Knowledge of Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.
• Familiarity with the REXX development language.
• Experience with Broadcom Detector and Subsystem Analyzer.
• Experience with DB2 for z/OS version 12 or higher.
• Expertise in DB2 performance tuning.
• Experience managing large tablespaces.
• Familiarity with Endevor.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
• Remote/Virtual work arrangement.
