Staff Strategic Sourcing Manager – Logistics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take charge of sourcing strategy and commercial implementation across logistics, warehousing, freight, returns, and other related areas.

• Oversee RFQ, RFP, and competitive bidding processes, which include supplier selection, pricing negotiations, SLA alignment, contract terms, and multi-year commercial agreements.

• Achieve measurable cost savings in freight, 3PLs, and returns providers through supplier benchmarking, cost modeling, and vendor negotiations.

• Develop and sustain dashboards, cost models, and reporting systems that monitor expenditure, savings, supplier performance, and key cost drivers throughout the portfolio.

• Set KPIs and supplier scorecards that encompass cost, service, quality, on-time performance, and responsiveness, while leading regular business reviews to ensure accountability.

• Collaborate with Logistics, Finance, Operations, and Program teams to synchronize sourcing decisions with service requirements, launch timelines, forecast adjustments, and business priorities.

• Enhance supplier governance and contract management to facilitate improved decision-making and operational execution, fostering long-term strategic partnerships.

• Standardize sourcing methodologies, commercial documentation, and supplier management practices to enhance scalability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline.

• 8-10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, or supply chain, with substantial ownership of indirect spend categories.

• Demonstrated success in supplier negotiations, RFQ/RFP management, and contract execution.

• Strong analytical, financial modeling, and project management abilities, with a knack for creating tools and dashboards for reporting systems.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the capacity to influence cross-functional stakeholders without formal authority.

• Experience in sourcing logistics, freight, warehousing, 3PL, returns, or other related operational services.

• In-depth knowledge of global trade compliance, with the ability to incorporate cost trade-offs into a unified sourcing strategy.
