Staff Solution Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design and develop comprehensive warehouse automation solutions for customer facilities.

• Design, engineer, and configure automation systems, including warehouse layouts utilizing tools like AutoCAD.

• Evaluate customer operational data, create models, and accurately size automation systems to align with business objectives.

• Convert customer business requirements into recommendations for hardware, software, and system-level solutions that enhance warehouse performance.

• Assist in proposal development activities, encompassing system configuration, pricing inputs, business case analysis, and high-level deliverables for customers.

• Deliver technical solutions to customers and senior stakeholders, addressing technical inquiries and guiding solution direction.

• Travel to customer sites and Symbotic locations as necessary to support customer engagements and proposal efforts (up to 30% travel).

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Science, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.

• At least 7 years of experience in solutions engineering, supply chain automation, automated material handling, or a comparable technical setting.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including experience with data modeling, financial analysis, and advanced Excel; familiarity with SQL, PowerPivot, and/or Access is preferred.

• Experience in developing business cases, customer-facing proposals, and executive-level presentations or deliverables.

• Proven capability to lead or influence cross-functional teams and manage intricate technical proposals or projects.

• Background in warehouse automation systems, material handling solutions, or robotic picking technologies is preferred.

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the capacity to articulate complex technical concepts to varied audiences, including customers and senior executives.
