
Staff Software Engineer – UI Foundations Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of and enhance the architecture of the frontend platform, which includes defining module boundaries, implementing micro-frontend patterns, developing shared component/design-system infrastructure, and formulating state management strategies.
• Analyze and resolve persistent frontend performance issues related to bundle size, load time, runtime performance, and rendering bottlenecks.
• Establish performance budgets and guidelines across engineering teams.
• Develop and maintain build systems, local development environments, CI/CD pipelines, linting/code generation, and internal tools.
• Identify bottlenecks in engineering workflows and create automation driven by AI agents to reduce unnecessary manual tasks.
• Set the technical direction and establish standards for the frontend organization.
• Provide mentorship to senior and staff-track engineers.
• Review architectural proposals impacting shared frontend infrastructure.
• Collaborate with product engineering, design systems, and platform/infrastructure teams.
• Lead architectural decisions and facilitate the development of autonomous, AI-agent-driven engineering workflows.
• Proven software engineering experience at a Staff level or equivalent scope and impact.
• Extensive knowledge of modern frontend architecture, particularly with React or similar component frameworks.
• Strong skills in infrastructure and systems engineering, particularly in build tooling, CI/CD, and development environments.
• Demonstrated experience in enhancing frontend application performance at scale, focusing on bundle optimization, rendering performance, and load-time metrics.
• Experience in designing and delivering internal developer tools or platform infrastructure that significantly improved developer velocity.
• Practical experience with AI-agent-driven or LLM-powered engineering workflows, or a well-defined perspective on their development.
• Strong technical judgment and the ability to forge consensus on ambiguous, cross-cutting architectural decisions.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Nice to have: experience with monorepo tooling, micro-frontend architectures, large-scale frontend platform migrations, design systems, component library architecture, agent harness infrastructure, evaluation frameworks, agent orchestration, or frameworks for LLM tool use.
