This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the design and architecture of scalable full-stack solutions that align with product requirements.
• Take ownership of the architecture for core subscription and membership systems, ensuring billing accuracy, managing lifecycle states, handling plan changes, cancellations, and orchestrating workflows across commerce, pharmacy, and fulfillment.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams from commerce, clinical care, pharmacy, and fulfillment to drive cross-functional technical initiatives, ensuring that platform decisions effectively scale across the organization.
• Provide mentorship regarding best practices, design patterns, and coding standards.
• Advocate for the technical needs of the team within the broader engineering organization.
• Engage in product discovery and validation through prototyping and experimentation.
• Work alongside product and design teams to ensure that platform capabilities foster an intuitive end-to-end customer experience.
• Drive strategic technical decisions aimed at enhancing security, scalability, and performance.
• Decompose complex projects into actionable tasks.
• Establish and enforce uniform coding and testing standards.
• Initiate projects to mitigate technical debt and improve workflow efficiency.
• Implement tools and processes for monitoring, incident response, and performance optimization.
• Utilize analytics and monitoring to illustrate how engineering solutions directly impact critical customer activation and reactivation KPIs.
• Analyze metrics and user feedback to continuously enhance the platform.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
• Conduct code reviews and promote knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• A minimum of 8 years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a Staff Engineer or similar senior technical leadership role.
• Proven track record in constructing platform infrastructure that enhances patient retention, engagement, and satisfaction, ideally in a cloud environment (AWS).
• Expertise in back-end technologies such as Spring, Java, Kotlin, and PostgreSQL.
• Demonstrated experience in optimizing web service metrics, including speed and reliability.
• Familiarity with building workflows (Temporal), monitoring solutions (Datadog), experimentation frameworks (Growthbook, Optimizely, etc.), and CI/CD processes (CircleCI, GitHub actions).
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and strategically.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities, enabling effective teamwork across various departments.
• Capable of prioritizing multiple projects to achieve goals without requiring management oversight.
• Knowledgeable in front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (React, React Native, NextJS, GraphQL, TypeScript).
