Platform Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily operations and upkeep of our AWS GovCloud environment, including management of EKS clusters, EC2 instances, RDS/Aurora databases, ElastiCache, S3 storage, and IAM.

• Coordinate the deployment of new features and fixes across both commercial and GovCloud environments, collaborating with application teams through structured intake processes and ad hoc requests.

• Develop and sustain reusable Terraform modules, Helm charts, and CI/CD pipeline templates (using GitLab CI) that uphold organizational standards for scalability, compliance, and observability.

• Identify and troubleshoot cross-cutting infrastructure challenges—such as networking misconfigurations, IAM permission boundaries, and Kubernetes scheduling issues—assessing the potential impact before recommending solutions.

• Collaborate with application teams to translate platform modifications and new standards into clear, actionable guidance that minimizes friction within the organization.

• Enhance the observability and stability of the environment using Datadog, while also participating in an on-call rotation with complete production ownership.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering.

• Strong expertise in Linux administration within production settings, particularly with RHEL-based system management.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with Kubernetes (preferably EKS), Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitLab CI or similar tools.

• Proven experience in deploying and managing infrastructure on AWS.

• Excellent cross-functional communication abilities, capable of translating platform changes into clear guidance for application teams.

• Even Better If: Familiarity with configuration management and automation tools (like Ansible, AWX, Packer).
