Staff Software Engineer, Search & Retrieval Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the enhancement and architectural advancement of hybrid search infrastructure

• Create and execute smart tiering strategies across various data states

• Reduce latency and cost of service

• Serve as the subject matter expert for the indexing and search ecosystem

• Guarantee fault-tolerant operations during significant ingest events

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years in software engineering

• In-depth, production-level experience in tuning and scaling Lucene-based search engines (Elasticsearch, Solr)

• Proven track record of managing the balance between compute and storage

• Extensive experience in overseeing complex data pipelines

• Expert knowledge of cloud primitives (GCP preferred)

• High-level proficiency in systems-level and backend programming languages (Go, Rust, Python, or Java/C++)
