Staff Software Engineer, Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of significant and ambiguous challenges from their initial conception to launch and subsequent iterations.

• Establish direction, align stakeholders, and maintain accountability for results.

• Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to prioritize tasks, define project scope, and set success metrics.

• Guide technical decisions related to architecture, performance, reliability, and maintainability.

• Coordinate efforts across teams and systems, fostering alignment, resolving technical conflicts, and ensuring the progression of complex initiatives.

• Enhance engineering practices through mentorship, reusable patterns, and clear technical direction.

• Integrate AI into engineering processes and assist the team in optimizing AI workflows and automation.

• Engage in an on-call rotation as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading complex initiatives across teams or systems, delivering significant customer, business, or engineering results.

• Strong backend engineering skills, with the capability to navigate the entire technology stack and make end-to-end technical decisions.

• Excellent product and technical judgment, particularly in situations where the problem or path forward is ambiguous.

• Ability to influence seasoned colleagues and align teams without formal authority.

• Experience utilizing metrics, experimentation, and observability to inform decisions and enhance production systems.

• Regular hands-on engagement with AI throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Ability to adapt as AI tools evolve while maintaining accountability for quality, security, and outcomes.

• Experience in enhancing how a larger team utilizes AI is highly advantageous.
