Staff Software Engineer, iOS Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the architecture for Reddit's iOS mobile application and prepare it for an influx of over 100M daily active users.

• Propose innovative solutions to elevate Reddit's mobile apps to a best-in-class status.

• Identify architectural deficiencies and spearhead the redesign of the iOS platform focusing on modularity, performance, and quality.

• Develop efficient workflows to expedite migrations within a multi-million-line codebase.

• Provide mentorship to iOS developers throughout the organization.

• Act as the primary expert for intricate iOS development challenges.

• Establish technical direction, select technologies, and set best practices for iOS development.

• Function as the architect for iOS applications across the company.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in software development.

• A minimum of 5 years in designing and developing iOS applications.

• Extensive experience in building mobile applications at scale.

• Proven ability to influence organizations with over 100 engineers regarding iOS technical direction and best practices.

• Familiarity with contemporary iOS frameworks such as SwiftUI and structured concurrency.

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including design, product, and data.

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent technical proficiency.

• Strategic mindset and a strong passion for creating scalable, well-architected software.
