Staff Software Engineer, Frontend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the frontend architecture and technology stack decisions, encompassing state management, data fetching, routing, module boundaries, build tooling, and future technology direction.

• Integrate the product’s shared component system and transition the product to a unified system.

• Set and drive quantifiable frontend performance objectives utilizing bundle budgets, Lighthouse in CI, real-user metrics, and Sentry data.

• Collaborate with designers on layout, density, motion, hierarchy, and product interaction choices.

• Create typed boundaries, linting rules, visual regression tests, and rapid feedback loops to ensure a safe coding environment for developers.

• Review frontend modifications, guide engineers, and uphold quality standards across teams in India and the US.

• Merge two active generations of the workflow builder without interrupting product development.

• Develop interaction patterns for agents that transmit partial results over several minutes.

• Continue to deliver product features while enhancing architecture, consistency, performance, and release safety.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in building production-level frontend applications.

• Profound expertise in React and TypeScript.

• Experience in delivering customer-facing products and managing the aftermath.

• Ownership of a frontend codebase, including architecture, build tooling, component systems, testing strategy, and release safety.

• Proven track record of performance practices with measurable outcomes.

• Strong aesthetic sense and the ability to identify and articulate interface problems.

• Capability to critically assess coding-agent output and implement checks for safely deploying code generated by agents.

• Excellent written communication skills for making decisions across various time zones.

• Willingness to work during the overlap period from 9 PM to 2 AM IST, Monday through Friday.

• Bonus: Experience with design systems, data-dense or document-heavy products, early-stage or 0-to-1 work, B2B SaaS, or LLM-backed interfaces.

• A portfolio, GitHub profile, live product link, or a description of a web interface you have developed.

• Experience with production web frontend development, excluding mobile app experience.
