This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Define the trajectory of our Kubernetes-centric platform
• Spearhead a significant infrastructure project
• Enhance the productivity of the engineering team
• Take ownership of the technical strategy and execution of essential infrastructure systems that support all of JumpCloud's services: EKS cluster lifecycle, infrastructure-as-code, GitOps delivery pipelines, observability, and multi-region networking
• Collaborate closely with Data Platform and application engineering teams
• Over 7 years of professional experience in infrastructure, platform, or DevOps engineering
• Extensive knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS preferred) — cluster lifecycle management, addon ecosystem, node group operations, RBAC, Crossplane, networking, and production troubleshooting
• Strong proficiency in Terraform — module design, state management, provider upgrades, and extensive refactoring across multi-account, multi-region AWS infrastructure
• Comprehensive AWS knowledge covering EKS, IAM, VPC networking (NLB/ALB, Transit Gateway, Global Accelerator), Route53, CloudFront, and multi-account architectures
• Practical experience with production observability — Datadog monitors, SLOs/SLIs, PagerDuty alerting, and improving alert quality and reducing noise
• Familiarity with secrets management — HashiCorp Vault & Consul, AWS Secrets Manager, KMS, External Secrets Operator, Cert Manager
• Experience with highly available distributed systems across multiple regions
• Proven ability to lead technical architecture decisions, create design documents/RFCs with clear trade-off analysis, and build consensus among teams
• History of mentoring engineers and elevating the technical capabilities of a team
• A strong enthusiasm for tackling complex infrastructure challenges at scale
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

• Proven experience in developing and deploying applications in a public cloud environment (AWS, GCP) with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working with highly reliable distributed systems
• Proficiency in utilizing tools to monitor platform stability, availability, and performance (e.g., Datadog)
• A strong commitment to solving complex engineering challenges
