This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more state.
• Expand the configuration-driven data platform to reveal data insights within the Product experience and enable Machine Learning and LLM-driven insights.
• Act as the principal technical member of the Data Platform team, enhancing Ingest, Curation, and Retention as a Service.
• Engage directly with Snowflake, Snowpark for Python, Google Cloud Platform, Airflow, Docker, and Terraform.
• Mentor engineers and oversee the design and implementation of high-impact projects.
• Take ownership of development, testing, operations, and support in a comprehensive DevOps model.
• Propel continual enhancement of coding, testing, deployment, and communication standards.
• Collaborate with Product, Sales, Ops, Finance, and other teams on data solutions.
• Participate in the Data team's on-call rotation to maintain infrastructure stability, reliability, and performance.
• Profound understanding of processing large-scale datasets across distributed systems, including high-throughput and low-latency design trade-offs.
• Capability to design, implement, and optimize scalable dimensional and normalized data models for OLAP and OLTP systems.
• Experience with data governance frameworks, data catalogs, and observability tools.
• Proven track record in setting technical direction, converting ambiguous requirements into architecture, and mentoring engineers.
• Ability to align data solutions with overarching company goals and customer value.
• Proficient in communicating technical designs, project status, and risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience integrating automated test coverage, data validation, and idempotent design into deployment pipelines.
• Emphasis on security, trust, and dependability in design principles, including declarative design, modularity, containers, and idempotency.
• Over 8 years of experience in building production data systems, encompassing large-volume pipelines, cloud databases, and real-time data events.
• Proven technical leadership in mentoring engineers and influencing architectural decisions.
• Strong practical experience with Python 3.
• Hands-on expertise with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Firebolt, or Redshift.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform or similar cloud environments, containers, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Knowledge of configuration-driven pipeline design, Airflow, and CI/CD for data workflows.
• Experience in building or supporting data infrastructure for Machine Learning and LLM applications, including feature stores, embedding/vector pipelines, or model-ready data services.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools to enhance work efficiency.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative team-oriented mindset.
