Staff Software Engineer – Data, DC Tech Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create, construct, and enhance efficient ETLs utilizing PySpark and DBT to manage extensive customer datasets.

• Build tools and frameworks designed to facilitate data integrations and enhance scalability.

• Establish the technical direction for DC data architecture while mentoring fellow engineers.

• Oversee external contractors to guarantee the delivery of high-quality and practical solutions by the team.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and applied science teams to define project scope and deliver data solutions that resolve real-world challenges related to customer data quality and product feature needs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in designing and maintaining ETLs that handle large-scale datasets.

• Proficient in Python, PySpark, SQL, and familiar with platforms/tools such as Databricks, Snowflake, or DBT.

• At least 2 years of experience in a technical lead position (e.g., Tech Lead or Engineering Manager), with a commitment to mentorship and fostering the growth of others.

• Strong analytical skills paired with the ability to navigate ambiguous or incomplete requirements to provide concrete and impactful solutions.

• A focus on practical results—you excel at balancing technical precision with the necessity of timely execution.

• Experience working directly with complex, unrefined datasets and devising innovative methods for processing and analysis.
