Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Egypt.

📋 Description

• Design, create, and maintain scalable data pipelines utilizing contemporary data engineering tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Prefect).

• Develop and uphold dimensional and semantic data models to facilitate analytics and operational applications.

• Construct curated data products that cater to analytics and contemporary AI workloads.

• Design data schemas and storage strategies optimized for both analytical and AI tasks.

• Establish and maintain version control workflows alongside isolated development and testing environments.

• Manage and enhance cloud-based data infrastructure, ensuring performance, scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

• Contribute to the architecture and ongoing development of the organization's modern data platform.

• Collaborate closely with AI, Analytics, and Product teams to provide scalable, high-quality data solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering with a proven track record in production environments.

• Strong proficiency in building scalable data pipelines using Python and SQL.

• Practical experience with modern data engineering tools such as dbt, Airflow, Prefect, or similar technologies.

• Extensive familiarity with dimensional data modeling and semantic data models.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), including services like S3, Redshift, Athena, Glue, and Lambda.

• Hands-on experience in designing, building, and managing modern data infrastructure, encompassing storage, compute, orchestration, and monitoring.

• Understanding of modern AI architectures and the data needs for LLMs, AI agents, and RAG applications.

• Strong ownership mentality with the ability to excel in a fast-paced startup setting.

• Capability to translate evolving business, analytics, and AI needs into scalable data solutions.

• Effective communicator who collaborates efficiently across Data, AI, Product, and Engineering teams.
