Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

• Anticipate potential issues to guarantee smooth project execution.

• Develop technical solutions that enhance, optimize, and iterate on The RealReal's platform.

• Create robust, scalable back-end systems that support customer journeys.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in the development, scaling, and maintenance of distributed systems.

• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, architectural design, and agile development methodologies.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently on complex issues.

• Strong communication skills, capable of clearly and concisely conveying complex ideas.

• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, Java or Kotlin, or Elixir.

• 8+ years of software development experience, successfully delivering consumer or business-facing products, or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Familiarity with front-end JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, etc.), Gradle, and Spring Boot.

• Acquaintance with Python and AWS, or contributions to open-source projects along with a robust GitHub portfolio.
