Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Direct the design, architecture, implementation, and delivery of significant systems and initiatives that involve multiple teams.

• Develop and test system components.

• Lead code and design evaluations, presenting substantial designs for technical committee consideration.

• Ensure code quality, system tests, functional tests, and integration for developed systems and interfaces.

• Tackle complex, ambiguous issues by leveraging creativity and sound judgment.

• Collaborate with UX and product teams to create solutions focused on customer needs.

• Act as a recognized technical expert and provide guidance on challenging trade-off decisions among groups.

• Contribute to shaping the company's technical objectives and establish formal networks across teams to ensure alignment.

• Operate independently on new and special projects.

• Mentor engineers and oversee the work of others.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of professional software development experience in creating and managing scalable, customer-facing software systems.

• Experience in technical leadership, including architectural design, navigating complex trade-offs, and influencing engineering decisions across teams.

• Proficient in designing and building dependable, scalable distributed systems, including web services, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.

• Demonstrated capability to navigate ambiguity, simplify intricate problems, and deliver high-quality solutions in dynamic environments.

• Experience in integrating third-party platforms and SaaS products via APIs, events, and webhooks.

• Familiarity with ecommerce or marketplace systems, such as catalogs, checkout, payments, or order management, is advantageous.

• Experience in creating high-performance customer experiences, including frontend performance optimization, is a plus.

• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.
