This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• Design and develop event-driven pipelines that capture conversational and interaction events across various channels and store them in durable, queryable databases.
• Take ownership of the data model and storage architecture that represents conversational context in DynamoDB, ensuring fast, consistent, and cost-effective access for AI agents.
• Create system architecture and technical proposals that encompass event ingestion, schema/table design, strategies for single-table versus multi-table, and DynamoDB read/write access patterns.
• Construct event sourcing/CQRS-style systems that reconcile high-throughput Kafka event streams with strongly consistent context reads.
• Develop production-grade Go services with clean, maintainable code, thorough tests, and comprehensive documentation.
• Create systems that are observable, debuggable, and resilient.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of systems, including design, deployment, monitoring, and on-call responsibilities.
• Adhere to a build-ship-run methodology.
• Design APIs and data contracts that allow AI agent platform teams to efficiently retrieve relevant context.
• Tackle issues related to data freshness, TTL/retention, partition key design, hot partitions, and query latency at scale.
• Optimize DynamoDB capacity modes, GSIs/LSIs, and access patterns to enhance cost efficiency, throughput, and latency.
• Contribute to engineering excellence through participation in architecture discussions, code reviews, and the establishment of standards.
• Mentor team members and share knowledge generously.
• Collaborate with product and technical stakeholders across teams, providing insights on consistency, availability, and performance trade-offs.
• 5–8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong backend and platform skills, including expertise in distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, event-sourcing systems, and cloud-native design on AWS.
• Proficient in Kafka or other event-streaming platforms.
• Solid backend engineering experience in Golang (preferred), Java, or Node, with a willingness to learn additional languages and technologies as required.
• Significant experience in data modeling and persistence at scale, particularly with DynamoDB or a comparable NoSQL system.
• Familiarity with integrating LLMs and vector databases in a backend or platform context.
• Experience with AWS operations, including core services (DynamoDB, EKS, etc.), Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and monitoring.
• Ability to clearly explain architectural trade-offs, especially concerning storage, consistency, and throughput.
• Strong engineering fundamentals, including clean code practices, testing strategies, debugging production systems, and building reliable, long-lasting systems.
• Experience using AI coding tools such as Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar, along with an understanding of their benefits, risks, and best practices.
• Capacity to work autonomously, define project scope, and deliver solutions independently, with strong decision-making skills regarding prioritization.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluency in English.
• Experience in building platforms from scratch is advantageous.
• A background in CPaaS or communication platforms is a plus.
• Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
• Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
• Flexible working hours and the potential for remote work.
• Comprehensive health and wellness benefits.
• A vibrant and inclusive company culture that values diversity.
