Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Create and develop backend systems that ingest and process substantial amounts of social data from platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, X, and LinkedIn.

• Construct robust third-party API integrations and enhance infrastructure that supports AI workloads.

• Enhance reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness across backend systems and data pipelines.

• Implement monitoring, incident response, and on-call procedures.

• Develop AI-driven product experiences, which include conversation inboxes, AI-suggested responses, and summaries of social conversations.

• Refine shared components, design systems, and frontend architecture.

• Optimize application performance and reliability for thousands of daily users.

• Collaborate with product and design teams to create workflows tailored for brand and marketing teams.

• Document architecture and steer decisions regarding infrastructure, tooling, and frontend development.

• Evaluate technical designs and code, offering feedback to enhance engineering standards.

• Mentor fellow engineers and contribute to the engineering culture and development practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive engineering experience in designing, building, and maintaining production systems across backend, frontend, or full-stack domains.

• Profound knowledge of system design, distributed systems, and scalable architecture.

• Experience in constructing reliable data pipelines utilizing external APIs or managing complex, data-rich React web applications.

• Strong user empathy and intuitive product understanding.

• Background in mentoring engineers and influencing engineering culture.

• Curiosity regarding AI's influence on software development and interest in AI-assisted engineering processes.

• Comfort in a dynamic startup environment with significant ownership and responsibility.

• Proficiency with TypeScript, React, Shadcn, Zustand, AWS, Pulumi, Postgres, ClickHouse, and Turbopuffer.

• Familiarity with AI tools like Cursor, Claude Code, Graphite, and Granola.

• Bonus: experience with high-scale data pipelines or real-time data processing.
