Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

• Take charge of the technical direction for one of the company’s key products.

• Make architectural choices that have a lasting impact.

• Write production-quality code and establish the technical standards.

• Design systems that integrate multiple components.

• Create design documents utilized by the wider team.

• Identify areas of technical debt before they escalate into significant issues.

• Develop agentic workflows, including automated reviews and LLM-assisted QA.

• Contribute to AI-driven features that involve RAG, function calling, and evaluation frameworks.

• Choose AI tools and define engineering patterns.

• Oversee delivery across various workstreams.

• Manage dependencies across teams.

• Bridge the gap between engineering capabilities and business requirements.

• Mentor team members and engage in the hiring process.

• Proven experience in building complex systems from the ground up.

• Ability to articulate specific technical decisions and their underlying rationale.

• High level of agency and the capability to identify and carry out necessary work independently.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity in a rapidly evolving Series A environment.

• Regular use of AI tools and a keen interest in enhancing their application.

• Strong educational background in computer science or a related discipline.

• Proficiency with Node, TypeScript, and GCP.
