Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead a small team of engineers by providing technical mentorship, conducting code reviews, and offering architectural guidance to guarantee high-quality outcomes.

• Work in close collaboration with Product Managers and Designers to define roadmap priorities and convert customer requirements into scalable solutions.

• Design and develop intricate features across the technology stack utilizing React, TypeScript, Python (Django), Node.js, and PostgreSQL.

• Promote engineering best practices, such as thorough testing, maintaining code quality, and improving tooling to enhance team productivity.

• Take ownership of technical delivery from the design phase through to deployment, addressing performance, reliability, and monitoring factors.

• Advocate for engineering excellence by proactively identifying opportunities for improvement within the codebase, development workflow, and team processes.

• Act as a thought partner to engineering leadership in scaling systems, minimizing complexity, and mentoring team members.

• Develop a strong understanding of our customers to help ensure that our products are intuitive, effective, and dependable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of professional software engineering experience, with significant full stack development expertise.

• Demonstrated experience in leading engineering teams or pods, including mentoring, task planning, and making technical decisions.

• Strong frontend development skills with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and React.

• Substantial backend experience with Python (Django) and Node.js using TypeScript, particularly in building and scaling APIs and services.

• Understanding of infrastructure components such as Kubernetes (K8s) and containerized deployments.

• Experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and tools like Kafka.

• Comprehensive understanding of software design principles, testing methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Proven track record of making pragmatic technical decisions that strike a balance between speed, quality, and long-term maintainability.

• Capacity to excel in a highly collaborative setting, working closely with cross-functional colleagues in Product and Design.
