Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead a product squad and take ownership of shared platform foundations.

• Define project scope, establish timelines, and ensure engineers remain unblocked while developing production code.

• Deliver features from start to finish, including database schema, GraphQL resolvers, React components, and mobile interfaces.

• Develop and maintain functionality for authentication, permissions, notifications, and billing processes.

• Complete and enhance the React Native application.

• Create reliable workflows for scheduling, payments, and background integrations.

• Provide direction, remove obstacles for teammates, and elevate technical standards without direct management responsibilities.

• Collaborate closely with product, design, and marketing teams to define challenges and devise solutions.

• Engage in technical discussions that involve refactoring existing code and designing systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of eight years in building production software, or six years with an exceptional track record.

• Proficient in TypeScript and React fundamentals.

• Comfortable working across the entire stack, encompassing schema, resolver, component, and screen.

• Experience with React Native or Expo, or a strong desire and ability to learn quickly.

• Background in leading a small team or significant initiatives; prior management experience is not necessary.

• Proficient with AI coding tools.

• A pragmatic approach to development, iteration, and architectural decisions.

• Ability to navigate ambiguity and independently define project scopes.

• Openness to handling various tasks, including billing logic, unreliable tests, and customer-related bugs.

• Located in the US and authorized to work without requiring new sponsorship; transfer options are available.

• Availability during core hours that overlap with Central Time.

• Experience in the creator economy, social platforms, or content tooling is a valuable advantage, though not mandatory.
