This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead the technical strategy and implementation for our engineering teams.
• Spearhead the creation of a scalable, high-performance lending ecosystem, covering all stages from customer onboarding to checkout.
• Design and develop customer-centric financial products, ensuring a seamless and optimized user experience while facilitating large-scale financial transactions.
• Establish and execute the technical vision and best practices for a high-performing engineering team, guiding architectural decisions to improve the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of the lending platform.
• Work in collaboration with Product, UX, and Business teams to ensure technology aligns with strategic objectives. Create, build, and maintain customer-facing lending applications utilizing Node.js, TypeScript, React/Redux, Angular, Sequelize, PostgreSQL, and Docker.
• Create and enhance high-quality, testable code, implementing unit and integration tests using Mocha, Chai, Sinon, and Sequelize.
• Ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability through industry-leading software engineering practices.
• Identify and rectify defects through debugging, profiling, logging, log analysis, tracing, and FullStory session replays.
• Supervise code deployment to Staging and Production environments.
• Collaborate with Quality Engineers to resolve issues identified during testing and enhance automated testing coverage.
• Lead and engage in Agile ceremonies, breaking down product requirements into engineering deliverables in Jira.
• Review and provide constructive feedback on Product Requirements Documents, Epics, and User Stories, influencing the technical and business roadmap.
• Suggest alternative technical solutions to optimize delivery speed, improve customer experience, and reduce costs.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
• Contribute to Earnest’s DevOps culture and participate in rotating on-call support for production applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field, along with 3 years of software development experience.
• The 3 years of experience must encompass 3 years of experience in each of the following areas:
• building highly distributed microservices;
• SQL databases, including PostgreSQL, and expertise in caching, performance, monitoring, and scalability;
• server-side technologies, including Node.js, Typescript, and Javascript;
• client-side technologies, including React Native and Angular.
• Must have two years of experience with: AWS or similar cloud-based infrastructure; and leading the architecture, design, development, and deployment of large-scale projects.
