Staff Software Development Engineer

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of contemporary, scalable software solutions for MinuteClinic

• Spearhead the transition of the technology stack and the integration of AI-enhanced engineering methodologies

• Establish technical guidance and provide mentorship to engineers

• Partner with product, design, and architecture teams

• Create solutions that enhance patient care and empower clinical personnel

• Proactively identify opportunities to expedite development processes

• Advocate for engineering excellence, quality, performance, and reliability

• Embrace new technologies and assess emerging tools, including AI-driven development

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership or mentoring capacity

• Proven experience in designing and constructing backend services, APIs, or distributed systems within a cloud environment (Azure, AWS, GCP)

• Profound understanding of architectural principles, system design, and engineering best practices

• Ability to take initiative, guide projects from concept through to delivery, and eliminate ambiguity through decisive action

• Dedication to continuous learning and keeping abreast of modern engineering tools, patterns, and AI-driven development practices

• Practical experience with Java, Kotlin, Python, C#, or TypeScript

• Familiarity with building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and observability solutions

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline OR equivalent relevant experience

• Preferred: experience in developing healthcare, clinical systems, or regulated enterprise applications

• Preferred: knowledge of microservices architecture, event-driven patterns, or domain-driven design

• Preferred: familiarity with FHIR or HL7 standards

• Preferred: experience leading engineering discussions, conducting design reviews, and mentoring junior engineers

• Preferred: capability to identify technical risks, propose solutions, and foster stakeholder alignment

• Exposure to React, Angular, or mobile development is advantageous

• Preferred: experience experimenting with or implementing AI-powered developer tools or automation
