Staff Software Developer, Services

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement backend features and services for our restaurant partners.

• Identify unique technical opportunities that provide significant value.

• Take ownership of initiatives from initial concept through to production.

• Work in collaboration with product, design, and other teams to define, execute, and refine solutions.

• Utilize relevant technologies, including Python, Flask, Go, Ruby, and various cloud services.

• Partner with a small agile team of 5 to 8 backend engineers.

• Review code and generate innovative ideas.

• Employ best practices in coding, testing, monitoring, and DevOps.

• Write unit tests and manage logging and alerting systems.

• Ensure that services are reliable and perform well in production.

• Proven experience in developing scalable backend systems using Python (Flask).

• Familiarity with databases and cloud services.

• Comfortable utilizing monitoring and logging tools.

• Technology-agnostic, with the ability to quickly learn new languages or frameworks such as Go and Ruby.

• Proven ability to work effectively within a distributed team and communicate asynchronously.

• Comfortable collaborating with colleagues across various time zones and cultural backgrounds.

• Strong focus on product and customer needs.

• Proactive approach and the ability to manage problems from start to finish.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, uncertain startup environment.

• No specific educational qualifications or minimum years of experience required.
