Staff Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and comprehensive delivery of intricate features for Loopio's web platform, spanning from architecture to production.

• Create and deploy reusable frameworks and shared libraries.

• Influence architectural choices and promote system-level thinking across various teams.

• Develop tools and safeguards to mitigate bugs before they reach customers.

• Contribute to Loopio’s AI strategy by assessing third-party models and establishing patterns for agentic workflows and knowledge-graph-based retrieval.

• Establish technical and evaluation criteria for AI-driven features.

• Facilitate technical design discussions and foster decision-making and consensus.

• Collaborate with the ML team to design, integrate, and implement AI agents and knowledge-graph functionalities.

• Interact directly with customers to collect feedback.

• Work alongside Product Managers and Product Designers in an agile setting.

• Guide and mentor engineers through technical advice, design assessments, and code evaluations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of professional software development experience.

• Demonstrated success in designing and delivering complex software systems at scale.

• Experience leading architectural conversations, influencing cross-team technical choices, and achieving consensus in uncertain scenarios.

• Strong backend/API expertise in Python, Java, or PHP.

• Proven experience in designing versioned, well-documented APIs utilized by multiple teams and services.

• Experience in building for scalability and reliability, along with integration with third-party systems.

• Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure cloud services.

• Frontend development experience utilizing React and JavaScript.

• Solid understanding of database design and relational databases like MySQL.

• Familiarity with AI technologies, including LLMs, embeddings, or natural language processing.

• Knowledge of integrating modern AI APIs.

• Experience in mentoring engineers through coaching, design reviews, and code evaluations.

• Prior experience in a technical lead role is advantageous.

• Experience or interest in enhancing processes and boosting software development efficiency.

• Nice to have: TypeScript, microservices, event-driven architecture, search and retrieval systems, semantic search, RAG, graph databases, knowledge-graph modeling, agent frameworks, tool-calling patterns, and evaluating or monitoring LLM-based features.
