Staff, Senior Software Engineer – Streaming, Flink

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Chile, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop, test, and deploy new features and enhancements within the Cloudera Streaming product domain.

• Create containers, operators, and jobs that run on Kubernetes for integrating distributed data platform solutions into Cloudera’s container-based product suite.

• Engage throughout the software development lifecycle to guarantee high-quality, secure, and maintainable software.

• Master the delivery pipeline to ensure consistent and reliable releases utilizing AI and contemporary engineering tools.

• Work collaboratively with product management, support, UX, and documentation teams on successful agile initiatives.

• Offer assistance to field teams and clients, promoting product adoption, implementation, and issue resolution.

• Deliver production code, integrate components, and provide APIs for data-intensive applications on the Cloudera streaming platform.

• Contribute to upstream open-source technologies to enhance security, performance, and cross-environment deployment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with Apache Flink.

• Hands-on project experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, Operators, and CRDs.

• Profound expertise in Java along with strong familiarity with Spring, Quarkus, Hibernate, Maven, and Gradle.

• Solid understanding of software design and architectural principles.

• Capability to produce clean, maintainable, and high-quality software.

• Familiarity with delivery pipeline tools, CI/CD solutions, automated testing, and agentic development.

• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related discipline, and/or over 5 years of relevant work experience.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Experience with cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.

• Knowledge of Apache Kafka, NiFi, or Spark is a plus.

• Proficiency in Scala, Python, or Go is a plus.

• Experience with React, HTML, and CSS is a plus.

• Ability to design and implement delivery pipelines is a plus.
