Staff Security Platform Engineer – IC5

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Assist with daily backend integration tasks and policy platform applications for the client, implementing changes in Golang with MongoDB, Snowflake, and AWS-based services.

• Take ownership of the technical design for designated integrations, managing the process from definition to delivery, and documenting design choices for the client’s tech lead and delivery stakeholders.

• Produce deliverables that meet the client's technical standards, adhering to the code review, testing, and deployment protocols established by the client's team.

• Offer technical guidance and conduct code reviews for the Senior Security Platform Engineer (IC4) involved in the same project.

• Quickly onboard and start making contributions to integration tasks early in the project lifecycle.

• Timely communicate updates, risks, and obstacles to the client’s tech lead and delivery stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong, practical experience in developing backend services and integrations using Golang.

• Solid experience with MongoDB as an application data repository, focusing on data modeling and query design.

• Proven experience with Snowflake, including data loading and querying from backend systems.

• Demonstrated experience in building and managing services on AWS.

• Experience in designing, constructing, and sustaining integrations between backend systems and supporting platform applications in collaboration with a customer engineering team.

• Capability to lead technical design, conduct code reviews, and provide direction for other engineers on a project.

• Ability to communicate effectively with a client tech lead and translate daily requests into well-defined engineering tasks.

• Previous experience on a security or policy platform team.

• Prior experience as an embedded contractor on a customer engineering team.
