Staff Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Act as the technical cornerstone for Garner’s security initiatives.

• Oversee the technical security design and evaluation for systems that are critical to security.

• Ensure that new features comply with data protection and resilience standards.

• Utilize technical security knowledge to tackle complex business and technical challenges.

• Identify ineffective or inadequate technical approaches and shift efforts toward higher return on investment.

• Develop and implement automated defenses for security monitoring and incident response.

• Convert broad security goals into specific deliverables and architectural specifications.

• Offer high-level insights during code and design evaluations.

• Promote a development culture centered around security.

• Demonstrated capability to make critical technical security decisions.

• Skill in analyzing root causes and prioritizing security initiatives based on risk mitigation.

• Proficiency in conveying complex security risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to devise innovative solutions to reduce technical debt and enhance the efficiency of security infrastructure.

• Competence in managing intricate escalations and security incidents with thorough analysis and resolution.

• Expertise in one or more technical security domains, including Cloud Security, AppSec, or Data.

• Experience or expertise with Python, Kubernetes, Snowflake, AWS, Terraform, Wiz, and Cyberhaven.
