Staff SDET Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and implement scalable, dependable, and maintainable automation testing frameworks across web, API, and backend platforms.

• Act as a technical authority on testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.

• Assess and incorporate automated tools and technologies into the testing infrastructure.

• Promote test code quality, organization, maintainability, and conduct code reviews.

• Design and perform performance, load, and various non-functional tests.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

• Collaborate with development and product teams to adopt shift-left testing practices, quality gates, and coverage metrics.

• Troubleshoot complex system failures and determine root causes within application code and test infrastructure.

• Coach and guide junior and mid-level SDETs and software engineers.

• Develop and maintain documentation for test strategies, automation frameworks, and best practices.

• Contribute to the long-term quality roadmap and technology decisions alongside Engineering Managers and Principal Engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven expertise in the Playwright automation framework.

• Advanced skills in JavaScript or TypeScript.

• Documented experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipeline architectures.

• In-depth understanding of REST API testing methodologies and tools.

• Outstanding communication and articulation skills.

• Capability to provide constructive feedback and confidently express perspectives in technical discussions.

• Advanced analytical skills to discern trends and patterns in defect data.

• Commitment to emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and innovative testing methodologies.

• Ability to maintain patience and composure in complex technical settings.

• Strong engineering mindset with exceptional problem-solving skills.

• Proficient in functioning as an expert end-user, translating business requirements into technical solutions.

• Established credentials in leadership and thought leadership within quality engineering.

• Experience in mentoring and coaching engineers.

• Familiarity with agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.

• Proficiency in DevOps practices and Docker/containerization.

• Practical experience with AWS or Azure.

• Technical knowledge of the K6 load testing framework.

• Experience with Jenkins or Harness.

• Experience with JMeter for performance and load testing.
