This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Direct the analysis of extensive cancer and germline multi-omics datasets utilizing both conventional bioinformatics and AI-based methodologies.
• Spearhead the extraction, curation, and examination of Electronic Health Records (EHR), claims, and patient registry information.
• Design and implement real-world evidence studies that align with clinical, commercial, and regulatory goals.
• Merge omics, clinical, demographic, and various multimodal datasets while maintaining data integrity and confidentiality.
• Create, train, and deploy AI and machine learning models for trend forecasting, patient outcomes, and biomarker identification.
• Employ Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs) to derive structured insights from clinical notes, pathology reports, and other forms of unstructured data.
• Supervise real-world data (RWD) and genomics projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely, budget-compliant, and high-quality outcomes.
• Collaborate with teams across R&D, Data Science, Business Development, Medical Affairs, Product Management, Engineering, clinicians, scientists, biostatisticians, and regulatory stakeholders.
• Present intricate real-world evidence analyses to both technical and non-technical audiences, along with preparing reports and publications.
• Keep abreast of advancements in genomics and bioinformatics while developing new analytical methods and technologies.
• Engage with stakeholders to establish objectives, report on progress, discuss findings, and serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams.
• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, or a related discipline as specified under desired qualifications.
• Minimum of 10 years of pertinent experience.
• Established expertise in bioinformatics and genomic data analysis.
• Demonstrated knowledge in cancer genomics, genomic variations, molecular pathways, and cancer biology.
• Advanced understanding of mapping, variant calling, copy number variation (CNV) analysis, and statistical methodologies.
• Experience in managing, querying, and analyzing large-scale genomic and healthcare datasets using SQL, Python, or R, alongside data visualization tools.
• Proficient in predictive analytics, advanced machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling.
• Practical experience with AI frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Keras.
• Familiarity with EHR, claims data, patient registries, and health surveys.
• Knowledge of common data models like OMOP.
• Experience utilizing NLP and LLMs to analyze unstructured clinical data.
• Ability to interpret clinical endpoints, comprehend patient cohorts, and work with clinical stakeholders.
• Exceptional project management abilities and a history of successfully leading projects.
• Experience managing one or more direct or indirect reports.
• Outstanding communication and documentation skills for diverse audiences, including technical, clinical, and non-technical.
• Proven experience working alongside clinicians, scientists, biostatisticians, regulatory teams, and other stakeholders.
