Staff QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop a comprehensive long-term testing strategy for Expert Research utilizing Quality by Design and Automation by Default principles.

• Address test coverage deficiencies in crucial workflows, including call scheduling, expert sourcing, compliance, transcript review, and both client and expert portals.

• Establish and expand scalable end-to-end automation while identifying the suitable unit, component, API, and end-to-end test layers.

• Collaborate with developers in test planning for newly introduced features.

• Define quality metrics and set release gates.

• Evaluate AI-driven features, such as AI-led interviews and call synthesis, while aiding in the definition of output validation.

• Leverage AI tools to expedite test design, maintenance, and triage, while also educating others on their usage.

• Mentor engineers on shift-left and quality-by-design methodologies, influencing others without direct authority.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical end-to-end automation experience with at least one of Cypress or Playwright, and an eagerness to learn the other.

• Proficient in at least one programming language, such as Ruby, TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, Kotlin, or Java.

• Comfortable navigating unfamiliar codebases.

• Exceptional test design abilities, including API testing and a strong grasp of testing theory.

• Experienced with unit and component testing frameworks, such as RSpec or Vitest.

• Proven history of utilizing AI tools to accelerate software delivery and testing processes.

• Solid understanding of continuous delivery and release gating practices.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline configurations, test management systems like Allure TestOps, performance tools, and observability tools.

• Capable of setting direction autonomously without a Quality Engineering team or manager.

• Experienced in coaching engineering teams on quality and influencing practices across multiple teams.

• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
