Staff Product Manager – Product Information Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the PIM Vision: Define and lead the comprehensive roadmap for HighLevel’s Product Information Management system, covering Items, Variants, Catalog Items, Price Lists, Units of Measure, and multi-channel price resolution logic.

• Spearhead the Catalog Overhaul: Design the transition from our current catalog framework to a robust, scalable PIM that accommodates the full range of HighLevel’s commerce use cases across various product types and sales channels.

• Design for Multi-Team Consumption: Establish clear API contracts and data models that cater not only to the Commerce team but also to adjacent teams creating service-based and subscription-based product experiences, ensuring all consumers can reliably utilize PIM as a foundational platform.

• Foster Cross-Functional Alignment: Facilitate structured collaboration with engineering, design, and partner product teams to ensure PIM functionalities meet the necessary requirements across all consumer interfaces, clarifying and resolving conflicting priorities with conviction.

• Shape Pricing Infrastructure: Own the strategy for multi-currency, rule-based, and channel-aware pricing, ensuring accurate pricing resolution at every point of sale across all storefronts and channels.

• Advocate for the Merchant Experience: Transform complex catalog management needs into user-friendly workflows that empower merchants from various sectors — including physical goods retailers and service providers — to effortlessly create, organize, and manage their offerings.

• Establish the Platform Standard: Create foundational patterns and best practices that render the PIM a dependable, scalable service for other teams to build upon with confidence, including documentation, versioning, and deprecation protocols.

• Influence the Broader Commerce Roadmap: Collaborate with peer PMs across the Commerce team to ensure that PIM investments are strategically sequenced to unlock compounding value across the platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10+ Years of PM Experience: A proven history in product management with significant experience in platform or infrastructure roles within high-growth SaaS or technology firms.

• Catalog Systems Expertise: Extensive knowledge of catalog and product information systems, including SKU management, variant modeling, pricing strategies, and multi-channel distribution.

• Platform & API-First Thinking: Proven ability to design products that function as shared infrastructure, defining APIs and data contracts with multiple downstream consumers in mind and considering internal teams as primary customers.

• Data Modeling Intuition: Proficiency in reasoning about complex data models and understanding the downstream effects of schema decisions on product behavior, performance, and long-term extensibility.

• Cross-Functional Influence: Capability to drive alignment across multiple product and engineering teams without direct authority while balancing competing requirements from internal stakeholders using a clear, principled framework.

• Bias for Ownership: Comfortable navigating ambiguous, high-stakes environments with the confidence to define direction and drive execution autonomously, without waiting for problems to be fully structured before taking action.
