This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
⢠Take ownership of the product strategy and roadmap for a dedicated Core Primitives initiative.
⢠Convert insights from customers, field teams, and the open-source community into strategic platform decisions, determining when to enhance an existing primitive, introduce a new abstraction, modify SDK/API behavior, develop an integration, enhance guidance, or create a more comprehensive product experience.
⢠Collaborate closely with engineering to deliver core behavior enhancements across servers, SDKs, and APIs, streamlining the modeling, operation, and reliability of Temporal in production environments.
⢠Establish developer experience objectives and success metrics prior to major investments, then validate, assess, and refine with technical users.
⢠Define explicit product boundaries and success criteria so that developers, internal teams, and adjacent product areas understand the usage and extension of Core Primitives.
⢠Craft the external narrative for your area through effective positioning, launch stories, documentation, examples, and strong collaboration with Developer Relations, Marketing, and field teams.
⢠Deliver enhancements alongside the necessary documentation, examples, migration guidance, and launch support to facilitate adoption.
⢠Over 8 years of product management experience, particularly in platform, infrastructure, developer tools, or other technical products.
⢠Proven ability to transform ambiguous technical domains into a clear strategy, roadmap, success metrics, and delivered results.
⢠Strong technical fluency in distributed systems, workflow or orchestration systems, event-driven architectures, APIs/SDKs, or similar platform abstractions.
⢠Capability to analyze API semantics, failure modes, state management, reliability, scalability, and cost tradeoffs.
⢠High expectations for developer experience across APIs, SDKs, documentation, examples, onboarding processes, and production workflows.
⢠Demonstrated success in shipping technical products collaboratively with engineering, followed by measuring adoption, learning from users, and iterating on feedback.
⢠Ability to interpret emerging workload patterns, including AI agents and tool calling, into platform requirements for primitives, APIs, SDKs, and integrations.
⢠Skill in balancing open-source developer experience, cloud adoption, and enterprise production requirements.
⢠Strong storytelling skills for technical audiences, encompassing strategy, launch narratives, trade-offs, and developer-facing guidance.
